Minutes of JANUARY 21, 2010

Dave Ruotolo called the meeting to order at 6:45 PM at Reno’s Restaurant, Orange, Connecticut

                            Roll Call:

  •                     Present: Dave Ruotolo, Denis Haley, Bill Hoffman, Steve LaForte, Ralph Milone, Annex, Branford Cheshire, Milford                     International, Hamden, Pop Smith, North Branford, Max Sinoway, Orange, West Haven, Bethwood and East Haven

  • Absent: Milford National, Cheshire Challengers

  •                               Secretary’s Report – Motion to accept by Harry Sudhoff, seconded by Gary Chambers, all in favor.

                                  Treasurer’s Report - Motion to accept by Frank Vieira, seconded by John MacDonnell, all in favor.

    New Business:

    Elliot Schwebel and Luis Lerma from Sports Supply Group made a presentation of equipment.

    Denis advised all leagues that there would be 3 umpire clinics for umpires doing all stars.

    Dave mentioned the new 50/70 program and asked all leagues if they were interested.

    A motion was made, seconded and approved by all members to rename the Seabreeze Tournament to the Connecticut Little League District 4 Presents the 8th Annual Seabreeze Classic – In Memory of Anthony F. Mentone.

    Dave told all present that he is aware of the problem with having at least one umpire on the field who is 18 years old. It is hoped that a game director will suffice.

    Dave announced there would be a softball meeting in early February.

    Dave told the leagues he would email them the start dates for the all stars.

    A review of the congress agenda was made and the membership voted to agree on all items except Item 2. New rule II(I) and Item 7. catcher to pitcher.

    Ralph Milone suggested that the district pay for one member from each league to go to the PCA Clinic in North Branford.

    Meeting adjourned at 7:55 PM.
